Use the Moodle-specific export file from the app. This file is typically in Moodle XML format and may be either a single XML file or a ZIP file containing the XML.
Moodle imports all assessment questions into the Question Bank, which is then used to populate any Quiz activity.
Turn Editing On: Ensure that Edit mode is toggled on for your Moodle course (usually a green button or gear icon in the top right).
Access Course Tools: In the navigation menu (often located on the left or under the main course gear icon ⚙️), select the menu option that leads to More or Course Administration.
Go to Question Bank: Under the Course Administration or Question Bank section, click on Question bank, then click the Import tab.
Select File Format: On the Import screen, select the correct file format:
Choose Moodle XML format.
Choose Category (Optional but Recommended): In the General section, use the Import category dropdown to select an existing category or create a new one to keep your imported questions organized.
(If you don't choose a category, the questions will go into the default category for the course).
Upload the File: Under Import questions from file, click Choose a file... (or drag and drop the file) and upload the Moodle XML file from your computer.
Complete Import: Click the Import button.
Continue: After Moodle displays the confirmation of successfully imported questions, click Continue at the bottom of the page to finalize the import.
Add/Edit Quiz: Navigate to a content area and add a Quiz activity, or open an existing quiz and click Edit quiz.
Add Questions: On the quiz editing screen, click Add on the right side.
Select Source: Choose from question bank.
Choose Category: Select the Question Bank Category you imported your questions into.
Select Questions: Select the individual questions or click Add random question (if you want Moodle to choose questions randomly from the bank), and then click Add selected questions to the quiz.
