The QTI package must be in a single, compressed ZIP file. Do NOT unzip the file before importing.
In Blackboard Learn's Original Course View, QTI files are imported into Question Pools, which serve as the question repository for building Tests.
Go to Control Panel: In your course, scroll down to the Control Panel and expand the Course Tools section.
Select Pools: Click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools, then click Pools.
Import Package: On the Pools management screen, click Import QTI 2.1 Package.
Upload File: Click Browse Local Files and select the QTI ZIP file (e.g., exam-generator-output.zip) from your computer.
Submit: Click Submit. Blackboard will process the file and notify you when the new Pool is created.
Return to Tests, Surveys, and Pools → Tests.
Click Build Test and give the new test a name and description.
On the Test Canvas page, click Reuse Questions and select Find Questions.
In the pop-up window, select the Pool you just imported to add questions to your new test.
In Blackboard Ultra Course View, the QTI file is imported directly into a Question Bank.
Go to Course Content: Navigate to the main Course Content page for your course.
Manage Banks: On the right-hand side, under the Details & Actions panel, find the Question Banks section and click Manage banks.
Start Import: On the Question Banks page, click the Plus icon (+) in the top-right corner.
Upload File: Select Import from file.
Select QTI ZIP: Click Browse and select the QTI ZIP file (e.g., exam-generator-output.zip) from your computer.
Verify: Blackboard will process the file, and the new Question Bank will appear in the list with all your imported questions.
On the Course Content page, click the Plus icon (+) where you want to add the assessment, and select Create → Test.
Give the test a name, then click the Plus icon (+) in the test's content area.
Select Reuse questions.
A panel will appear on the left. Click on the Question Bank you just imported and select the questions you want to add.
