Brightspace

The QTI package must be in a single, compressed ZIP file. Do NOT unzip the file before importing.

In Brightspace, QTI files are imported as a component package, which places the questions into the Question Library for future quiz creation.

Steps to Import QTI into the Course Question Library

1. Go to Course Admin: On the main course navbar or in the central dashboard area, click Course Admin (or the equivalent gear icon ⚙️ on the course homepage).

2. Select Import Tool: Under Site Resources or Course Administration, click Import/Export/Copy Components.

3. Choose Import: Select the radio button for Import Components.

4. Click Start: Click the Start button to proceed.

5. Upload File: In the Import Course Package dialog box, click Upload and select your QTI ZIP file (e.g., exam-generator-output.zip) from your computer.

6. Import All: Once the file is uploaded, click the Import All Components button to begin the conversion process.

   • (Note: If you click Advanced Options, ensure that Question Library is checked before continuing).

7. Wait for Completion: Brightspace will display a processing status. Once the process is finished, click the View Content link to return to the course homepage.

Steps to Verify and Use the Questions in a Quiz

The import automatically adds the questions to your course's Question Library.

1. Go to Question Library: Click on Quizzes on your course navbar, and then select the Question Library tab.

2. Verify: Confirm that your imported questions are now listed. They are typically placed in a new Section named after the QTI file.

3. Create a Quiz: Click on the Quizzes tab again and click New Quiz.

4. Add Questions: After naming and configuring the quiz, click Add/Edit Questions.

5. Browse Library: Click the Import dropdown button and select Browse Question Library.

6. Select the section containing your imported questions, choose the questions you want to use, and click Import.
